UK Walking Breaks: Wolds Walking Festival
When: 17th May – 1st June

For a jam-packed timetable of organised walks intermitted with children’s entertainment, superb food and drink plus informative displays schedule a visit to Wolds Walking Festival.

Wolds Walking Festival will be held in Lincolnshire from the 17th May for a two week period. The festival includes guided tours of the local attractions, walks with history talks, tight rope walking plus early morning walks for those for like to get active at the crack of dawn and feast their eyes on some superb wildlife.

Those less mobile and parents will pushchairs can also get involved with walks catered just for you and your needs.

UK Walking Breaks: Suffolk Walking Festival
When: 10-26th May

The first ever Suffolk Walking Festival will take place between 10th and 26th May and boasts a staggering 40 graded walks to suit all abilities and tastes.

Walks include a country ramble along the former towpath of the River Gipping between Needham Market and Ipswich; a medieval meander through the historic wool towns of Lavenham and Long Melford and a walk that visits a wooden ‘henge’ and takes in a scarecrow trail.

Walkers can expect stunning scenery, expert knowledge from historians and naturalists plus routes varying from 1 mile (approximately 1hr 15 minutes) to 12 miles (5.5 hours). Many of the scheduled walks also include a refreshment stop at a Suffolk country pub for lunch or a historic house for afternoon tea.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult but are more than welcome to join in on the adventures. Man’s best friend is also welcome on most of the walks, as long as your pouch is on a lead.

UK Walking Breaks: Isle of Wight Walking Festival
When: 3rd to the 18th May

The annual Isle of Wight Walking Festival has become of the largest walks in the UK and boasts over 500 miles of well-maintained and signposted footpaths plus 30 miles of Heritage Coastline.

Since it began in 1999, the two-week Isle of Wight Walking Festival has become a firm fixture in the Island’s outdoor events calendar, attracting around 15,500 people of all ages from the UK and abroad.

Walks are graded, easy, moderate and strenuous with distances ranging from one-mile to a non-stop, 24-hour walk around the Island’s spectacular coastal path (approximately 72 miles). With around 200 walks to suit all ages and abilities walkers are urged to get check this year’s event.

Walking Breaks in Germany
When: Daily departures May- October

For a walking break further afield why not take a short flight to Munich, Germany and
discover the legacy of King Ludwig and the fairytale castles of Bavaria with a walk around the heart of ‘Fairytale’ Land- Diessen.

From Munich, guests are transferred to Diessen where the route begins from the shores of Lake Starnberg- the location where the King met his end under mysterious circumstances.

The path will then lead you through a variety of villages including Wessobrun, world-renowned for its convent, passing spectacular monastic churches including the UNESCO heritage site of Zimmermann's Church of Wies en route.

The walk will also schedule a visit to Hohenpeissenberg (988m), for panoramic views of 80 nearby summits before descending to the willow-enclosed, turquoise River Ammer and the impressive wooded canyon of Ammerschulcht and much much more.

This non-strenuous route follows mostly lowland paths, and is achievable for most average walkers with no more than 12-15 miles a day.

The tour costs £595 p/p (land only) including transfers, hotel and guesthouse accommodation with breakfast, luggage transfers plus route notes and maps.
